Welcome:

Mission Statement: Male Survivors is dedicated to the restoration of dignity, trust, and emotional well-being in male survivors of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, and the prevention and elimination of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse across all genders and ages through peer counseling, peer support, empowerment, community service, education, and advocacy.

It has been established that at least 1 in 6 males are sexually abused before the age of 18.

Regardless of gender, anyone who experiences physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse will face challenges that individuals who have not experienced abuse may never confront. Male Survivors recognizes the unique needs of men who have suffered abuse at any point in their lives, including childhood sexual abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse as well as male rape and domestic violence. Such abuse can result long-term emotional pain, physical pain, and social struggles.

Male Survivors strives to dispel the gender myths that have been woven into our society and combine with that dispelling with introducing factual information about how gender myths and stereotypes have a negative impact on men's lives. Gender myths tell us that men cannot be victims, that it is not masculine to discuss one's pain and problems, and that men should never admit that they have been or are vulnerable. Such myths are false not only for male survivors but for all men. It is our goal to achieve a balance between what male survivors are and what male survivors are not.

Many male survivors spend years in silence because they fear what might happen should they disclose or fear no one will believe them or be able to relate to them. Male Survivors strives to eliminate the isolation and alienation felt by so many survivors. Male Survivors strives to let men know that they can find people who will understand what they have been through and who have shared common experiences that they are not alone in facing the struggle to survive the effects of abuse and domestic violence.

Male Survivors offers groups for men, groups about specific issues, and a general survivors group open to all genders in Fayetteville , AR and Northwest Arkansas. Male Survivors also offers informational services, advocacy services, and retreats for male survivors from across the globe to aide in the prevention, recognition, and treatment of survivors of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse.
